…that we have an online subscription to the Encyclopedia Britannica? With your library card number, you can access a full encyclopedia and dictionary, as well as a high-quality collection of images and videos to use in reports and presentations.
Start from our Online Resources page, and click on Encyclopedia Britannica. Enter your card number when prompted. The full Reference version of the Encyclopedia Britannica comes up first.
From this page, you can search or browse on a variety of topics, access media collections, view primary sources or choose the Kids Britannica homepage. Click on the arrow at the top right of the screen to “Jump to Britannica for Kids”.
The Britannica for Kids portal has the same great information access, but with articles chosen especially for younger readers. There are also “how to” guides here that help young learners improve academic skills. All content (articles, images, videos, etc.) includes a bibliography-ready citation in MLA, APA, Chicago Manual of Style and Harvard citation styles.
There is an integrated “workspace” where kids can bookmark content they want to save for later. Workspaces can also be shared with other library cardholders, for work on group projects.
