New Call Numbers, New Books: Our World

Our children’s collection reorganization continues apace!

To give you an idea of what is in each new collection category, the next several posts here will feature new books from each new category.

Books in this collection primarily discuss the geographies, histories, and cultures of our contemporary world.  Books that discuss facts about countries, and/or the cultures of people that one may find there are also included.  Books about indigenous groups that can still be found in these places are also included; so are travel guides.  All books in this collection must discuss the current world and provide up-to-date information.

Today, here are a few new books from our Our World area.

New Call Numbers, New Books: FACTS

Our children’s collection reorganization continues apace!

To give you an idea of what is in each new collection category, the next several posts here will feature new books from each new category.

Today, here are a few new books from our Facts area.

“Books collected in “facts” are books that list world records, provide trivia information, or discuss the answers to unique, miniscule, seemingly unanswered phenomena. Some are quick reference materials (e.g. almanacs, Handy Answer Book for Kids), while others are for leisurely reading. Collections of famous (or obscure) quotations will also be a part of this collection.”
